About the artist
Louise Alexander is a conceptual artist and educator based in regional New South Wales, Australia. Her work prioritises communication over aesthetics, engaging with the complexities of human experience through painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, textiles, and socially responsive installations. Across her practice, she examines how language, perception, and interpersonal dynamics shape our understanding of self, community, and the wider world.
Louise has an extensive academic background, having collaborated with the University of Wollongong on SERAP-approved research projects within the NSW Department of Education and contributed to the Aboriginal Languages Project at the NSW Board of Studies. She has taught both undergraduate and postgraduate programs as Relieving Subject Coordinator for Visual Arts Education at the University of Technology Sydney, and has led Gifted and Talented workshops in Visual Arts and Writing at UOW, fostering creative growth in young learners.
